MIDLAND COLLEGE MEDICAL SCIENCE BUILDING PROJECT
The addition and interior renovation for The Dorothy & Todd Aaron Medical Science Building for Midland College, which began late in 2008, is projected to be completed in August, 2009.

Midland College was first established as junior college in 1972. Since that time Midland College has expanded to over 700,000 sq.ft. of main campus on 224 acres. Midland voters overwhelmingly approved $41.8 m illion in expansions and bonds in a 2005 bond election. As part of that expansion bond, RBR Construction, Inc. was selected as part of a competitive bid to add an addition to the Dorothy & Todd Aaron Medical Science Building and do interior renovations as well.

The addition to The Dorothy & Todd Aaron Medical Science Building includes a new lecture hall, simulation rooms, class rooms, as well as supporting facilities.  The renovation encompasses the entire existing facility including the offices, simulation rooms, training rooms, lecture halls, library, and computer rooms. Scope of work includes new finishes as well as extensive utility upgrades.  The building was named in honor for Todd Aaron and his wife Dorothy in 2001. The Medical Science Building is the home for the partnership between Midland College and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

The building provides hundreds of Midland College science students with classrooms and labs to study in each semester. Many students remain to serve the health needs of Permian Basin residents after they graduate. Dorothy Aaron attended Midland College from 1974 to 1976. The couple began supporting Midland College in 1997 meeting a challenge grant from the Abell-Hanger Foundation. This gift to the Midland College Foundation was a generous one million dollars. Later they urged others to continue to contribute to the college with other challenge grants. Upon his death in February 2006 Mr. Aaron left the majority of his estate to the Midland College Foundation, thus further funding the college the couple considered their best investment.
